From the moment I stepped inside the shop, I already felt a warm welcome from what I suppose was the owner. The first thing that caught me was the jazz/blues music playing in the background, the motorcycles in sight, and that old-school atmosphere you don't usually get from a barbershop. The owner greeted me and happily guided me upstairs while asking what complimentary drink I wanted. Nice touch.

The second floor was even better. I honestly felt like the first floor was just the warm-up.

What really got me was the attention to the little details. There were vintage cameras displayed around the place, an old typewriter sitting in the corner, and other classic pieces that made the whole room feel like it had a story behind it. You could see that the owner really has a taste for classic things. Nothing felt overly decorated or forced. Even the small stuff added to the character of the place. It felt like walking into a different era, but still somehow comfortable and welcoming.

Then I was introduced to my barber. Right away, I could tell he was really into what he does. He took his time with the fade, going through each section carefully. First fade, second, then the next—everything was detailed without feeling rushed. The sound of the clippers, the jazz playing softly in the background, the cool air-conditioning, and the smell of fresh coffee made the whole haircut surprisingly relaxing.

I was sipping on their hot coffee while the music was playing, and honestly, the combination just worked. It had that old-school feel to it, almost like being somewhere in the '60s. No loud music, no rushed feeling, just a chill atmosphere while getting a proper haircut.

After the cut, I noticed the humidor on my right, filled with different cigars. I spotted what looked like Romeo y Julieta, Rocky Patel, and a few other bands I couldn't identify. Again, another small detail, but it added to the whole experience.

To sum it up, the whole experience was solid from start to finish. I traveled all the way from Makati just to check this place out, and honestly, it was worth the trip. It's not just the haircut. It's the music, the coffee, the cool air, the vintage cameras, the typewriter, the motorcycles, the cigars, and all those little details that make Don Haven feel different from your usual barbershop.

    Definitely coming back.

    Thank you, Don Haven!
